The Wilderness Experience

Our ABCOPAD and Mississippi students spent the day in the Wilderness.  The Wilderness is a region between Jerusalem and the Rift Valley in Judea.  Its features are stark and barren.  In ancient times, the traveler took his life into his hands when he ventured there.

Surprisingly, Jesus was driven here by God's Spirit and was tempted across forty days.  One of our stops was an overlook on the Wadi Qelt to contemplate that experience.

In addition, our day included Masada.  After the tour of the site, we paused to consider the decision made by the Zealots.  The discussion was deep and moving as we pondered:  could we or even should we?
