Up to Jerusalem

Leaving the Galilee behind, we begin our journey up to Jerusalem.  We remember that the phrase is both geographical and theological in nature.  Persons who visit Jerusalem are always pilgrims to some degree.

On the way, we stopped and explored Beth Shean.  The Israelis have invested much in this site in hopes of heightened tourism.  After some explanation of the history of the site, members of the group were offered free rein.  It is the best way to take in this expansive site.
