Further Preparations for Your Trip

Let's continue our discussion of preparations for your Holy Land pilgrimage.  Earlier, you were advised to sharpen your purpose for the journey and to set goals.

The second suggestion is for you to begin a program of exercise.  Since walking is the best exercise, you should begin walking daily and increase your number of steps weekly.  As always, you should discuss your exercise regiment with a doctor and receive her blessing before beginning.

Itineraries vary as to the amount of walking involved, but most Holy Land programs require some degree of fitness.  Please discuss the level of intensity in physical activity around your program with your group leader.

Your determination to be prepared physically for your trip will bring greater enjoyment to you and will keep covenant with the other members of the group.  While I have seen group members care for each other when physically challenged, it is much better to be prepared for whatever your program demands.

Begin today!  Take the first steps toward fitness.  Increase your activity daily.
