St. Gabriel's Church in Nazareth
Today our students visited Cana, Nazareth, Megiddo, Mount Carmel and the Mediterranean Sea.  The two churches in Nazareth, St. Gabriel's and the Church of the Annunciation, both claim the story of Gabriel's visit to Mary and his announce-ment that she will have a son.

An ancient document supports both sites as having a role in the encounter.  Gabriel appeared first to Mary when she was at the well of Nazareth.  St. Gabriel's Church is built over the well.  But Mary was so frightened that she ran home.  Gabriel pursued her in order to finish his message.  The Church of the Annunciation is built over the home of Mary.

Our last stop of the day was the aqueducts by the Mediterranean Sea at Caesarea.  But the ancient aqueducts received very little attention.  As the sun was setting, the group strolled the beach and posed for photos.
