Bethany, The Wilderness, Jericho, Qumran and the Dead Sea

Chaplain Tim Harrison and His McKendree Students at Jericho (plus Craig Yarbrough)
The day was perfect in terms of weather and the itinerary packed for our McKendree students.  They began the day with worship at the Church of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus in Bethany.

After experiencing the Wilderness of Judea and reading the story of Jesus' temptation (Luke 4), they continued on to Jericho for an exploration of Tel Jericho.  The city is described as the "lowest and oldest on earth."

The group enjoyed lunch in the Temptation Restaurant.  What a name for a restaurant!

Following a visit to Qumran, the site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the group ended the day with a float in the Dead Sea.
