Shepherds' Field Rediscovered

Shepherds' Field Near Har Homa

On a late afternoon in January, my driver, wife and I set out to find the Shepherds' Field always preferred by JCBS.  We thought that it had been lost to the construction at Har Homa.

Traveling on the road west of Har Homa, we saw the monastery which identified the field for us in the past.  Stepping out of the bus and walking only a few paces, the "lost" Shepherds' Field came into view.  It was a joyous site.  In the distance stood Bethlehem.

While discoveries are always exciting, this rediscovery was equally so.  Despite the hour, the site held us like an old friend.
