The Holy City

Two of the holiest sites today in Jerusalem stand in close proximity, the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock.  Both attract their faithful for prayer.

The poets speak of the very air of Jerusalem being saturated with hopes and dreams.  There is an Islamic saying that one prayer offered here is worth ten thousand uttered elsewhere. 

I often smile at this musing.  What a wonderful place to catch up on one's praying.  Little wonder that Jerusalem is "the" Holy City.
