The Best-laid Plans

We have a saying: the best-laid plans.  It is used to express consternation when our plans do not work out as scheduled.  That phrase fits today.

Our departure for the holy land has been delayed due to mechanical failure.  All other flights out were booked.  Only part of our present group got out of the country as planned, but seven of us remained to fly out another day.

Here's hoping that tomorrow goes according to plan.  My Arab friends have a nice one-word observation when things do not work as we wish or plan: "insha'allah."  This is uttered not with resignation but trust in God.

I need that kind of faith today.  My plans have been put on hold.
