A New Resource for Tour Groups, Students, and Pilgrims Bound for the Holy Land

In the coming days, I will make recommendations as to helpful resources for tour groups, students, and pilgrims bound for the Holy Land.  I will also suggest ways to prepare for the journey.

Abingdon Press has just released An Illustrated Guide to the Holy Land by Dr. Lamontte Luker.  Dr. Luker serves as an adjunct professor and representative of the Jerusalem Center for Biblical studies.

Here's my praise for the book: "with the Bible in one hand and this guidebook in the other, pilgrims, students and groups can explore the land of the Bible with confidence and ease.  Incredibly helpful are references to local Christians, Jews, and Muslims who can help the student better understand the contemporary setting."

The founder of the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies, Dr. Jim Ridgway, writes: "this comprehensive guide is elegantly written, combining history, geography, and archaeology with Biblical narrative and the contemporary situation.  This is a must-read for any serious student of the Bible."

Happy reading and preparations!  Next year in Jerusalem!
