Taking the Stage at Caesarea Maritima

Herod's Theatre by the Sea
We transferred north today following somewhat the Via Maris.  Our first stop was at Caesarea Maritima built by Herod the Great.  The site is spectacular with its palace, hippodrome, theatre, aqueducts and Crusader city.

While at the theatre, we tested the acoustics.  Sandra read the text from Acts 9 regarding Paul's escape from a nasty crowd in Jerusalem, and Matthew sang "Silent Night."  Amazingly, the singing could be heard at the very top row of the theatre.

This venue is active today.  Popular artists that we all know have performed here.  But the folks from Virginia took the stage today.
