Sunday was extremely quiet along the Via Dolorosa. It was a welcome sight. The Way of Sorrows is usually so busy that the pilgrim begs for quiet in order to contemplate the events of Jesus' final journey. Our walk today was truly a gift! The Via Dolorosa is described by scholars as probably a "walk of faith" and not of history. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful way to remember the agony and humiliation suffered by our Lord. Gratitude swells with each step taken by the pilgrim. This Sunday, I was that pilgrim.
